Make Fitness a Family Thing!

Childhood obesity is at an all time high. Kids today spend more time indoors watching television or playing video games. Not to mention the fact that kids today have busy schedules just like adults. As a result, there is not much exercising going on among our youth and it is up to us to change that. The best way to encourage children to be more active is to teach through example.  Because of our limited time for fitness, we need to be creative and turn family time into family fitness time.  Rather than sitting down to watch a television show with your kids, play ball with them or go for a walk. Not only will you be encouraging fitness, you will be spending quality time with your family. Face it, there isn't much conversation going on while you watch a show on television!Make family fitness time a part of your regular routine. Plan a certain night each week for an organized event such as bowling, roller skating, or another specialized sport. Other days you can go for walks or a bike ride. Even games like hide and seek or shooting hoops in the driveway can encourage physical activity.  Get your kids involved in community sports programs such as soccer, basketball or baseball.  If possible, volunteer to coach their team. You will show your kids that you care and you will be able to help encourage them.  The bonding experience you will have with your kids while you coach will be invaluable to both you and your children.  Teach your kids about the activities you enjoy. Even small children love to tag along on the golf course if your course allows. Go for family bike rides and hikes. You can teach your kids about nature as well as helping them learn to love the outdoors.  Start a family exercise challenge. Have everyone set fitness goals, something like exercising so many days a week or a certain amount of time, or set goals for the actual exercise â€" how many hoops you can shoot or how far you can ride your bike. Challenges encourage everyone to push a little harder. It also teaches your kids to keep striving to go further and try harder.  Make sure you don't make it too competitive. You don't want your kids to get frustrated!Making time for family fitness is a great way to stay in shape and build memories with your children. When you play together as a family everyone is a winner!

2 Exercise Routines For Flatter Stronger Abs

When it comes to reducing the fat from your abs in 3 weeks you will have to understand you need to be committed to an intensive workout regime.  Like anything to do with nature it takes time and there are delayed results even when you put a lot of energy into it. However, there are exercises that can really make a difference during a relatively small time period. Try the following exercise routines out for size:
You want to do exercise routines that will focus on your core muscles groups. The core muscle groups consist of your upper and lower abs, oblique's and back muscles.  Exercises that target the core muscles are the crunch, the plank and leg lifts.  These are just a few as there are many more.
Although core muscle exercises are good at a strengthening your core muscle group they are not effective at removing the fat. For that you need to do intensive cardiovascular work outs such as running, cycling and circuit training. These exercises will enable you use up the calories and burn off the fat. It is important that you drink plenty of fluids during your workout routines and on a daily basis. As you will be working out intensely you will need to replace the lost fluids to avoid dehydration. For example, fluids especially water are very effective detoxifiers. It will help to flush the toxins out of your body.  It will also help to improve blood circulation will also increases the bodies effectiveness to burn fat.
Do not undo all your hard work by eating a diet high in fat. You need to eat a good healthy and well balanced diet that consists of fresh vegetables, fruit and lean meats. These will provide the essential nutrients and fibre to sustain the emery you need to work out and burn fat.
To help you attain  flatter abs you should focus on having a good sitting and standing posture. Many people slump over their desks while they are sitting and hunch their shoulders while they stand. This poor posture puts extra strain on the back which weakens it and the core muscles which can lead to strain and back problems. Therefore, it is important that you maintain a healthy posture as this will help you develop stronger abdominal muscles.
Always consult with your physician if you have a health condition or food allergy before changing or doing any form of new exercise or diet.

Your Wrinkles Will Disappear Like Magic With Botox

If you're unhappy with how your wrinkles have gotten more prevalent over the last couple of years, you might want to think about Botox. You've no doubt heard of Botox, but perhaps you're not exactly sure if it's right for you. It is comprised of protein that is derived from the botulism toxin and is injected underneath the skin to smooth the lines or wrinkles on a person's face. When you use Botox you will see the lines and wrinkles melt away, thus reducing the signs of aging and eliminating wrinkles.Botox is a great way for a woman to look years younger without having to undergo the invasive procedures of a facelift. With a facelift, the patient will see scarring and bruises for anywhere from a couple of weeks to a couple of months. With Botox, you never have to go under the knife and you can see results in as little as an hour. There is minimal pain at the injection site and the procedure is so easy that many people do it on their lunch breaks. It is one of the most painless ways for women to feel youthful and look younger every time they peer into the mirror. One of the most complained about type of wrinkles is the brow furrow. When you furrow your brow, wrinkles can make you look your age. With a simple Botox injection, you can take ten years off of that brow, giving you the confidence you've been dreaming of.A big concern among women is whether or not their facial expressions are going to look natural. You don't want a procedure that is going to make you so you can't express yourself properly. The truth is that Botox will never make you look like you've had work done. This is one of the best benefits to the procedure.Botox will simply reduce the muscle activity in your face so the frown lines in your brows will still allow you to convey every facial expression you could before. Most women are embarrassed about getting a procedure done. With Botox, many women like to seek out a qualified female practitioner. There are practitioners in the Chicago area that will be happy to answer all of your questions and tell you whether or not Botox is right for you.If you're looking for a great way to lift years off your face and look younger, think about the benefits of Botox. Not only is it extremely affordable, you will not have to be embarrassed or take time off due to surgical procedures. The majority of women do not want their friends and peers to know that they have had work done. This makes Botox a very easy choice, so don't hesitate to contact a Botox practitioner today.

How to Stay Safe While in the Gym

Some people are naturally skilled at mastering the local health club and all that it contains. Others can find the environment somewhat complex from the minute they walk in the door. Which category you fit into is not important, what is important is when you go there that you are being safe and not exposing yourself to unnecessary injuries.
Going to the local gym can be an effective first step to making a commitment to take your health more seriously. You can have access to hundreds of exercises, various equipment and fitness classes all to get you to your goal. While it can be intimidating at first if you are not completely familiar with the ins and outs of a health club, it is the best place to be to learn more about insider fitness tips and tricks of the trade. The intimidation part can develop simply over the lack of proper training on how to effectively use all of the machines. This can also leave quite a margin for error and with that comes the potential for serious injuries. If you are going to embark on a weight lifting routine and you have never done so in the past, it may be a wise idea to have a general health physical before getting started. This is simply to ensure that you are not only ready physically for the activities, but that you are also not suffering from other underlying ailments that you may not have been aware of. By having a basic health physical completed you can have your blood pressure checked and also get your thyroid evaluated as well which is a very popular reason many adults struggle with their weight in the first place.
Once you have checked out with a clean bill of health, you feel better mentally to get started which is great. One of the biggest tips to prevent gym injuries is to know how to properly use the equipment. These types of injuries where a member pulls something or does not use a piece of equipment properly and they end up injuring themselves by jerking the machines or by using too much weight for each exercise is very common. Instead of going into the exercises with blinders on, look into a tour with an employee of the facility or a session with a personal trainer there. This way you can learn how each machine works, what muscles those machines are used for and you can also get some great tips for other exercises you may not have been aware of. Make sure are not using too much weight, and if the exercise seems to straining then odds are you need to lighten the amount of weight. Always warm up by doing some stretches or some quick cardio activity by simply running for ten minutes to prepare the body for the workout. Try to eat something healthy before and after you workout and also make sure you always have plenty of water to prevent dehydration during and after your workouts.

Is It Possible to Exercise Too Much?

Certainly there are people in this world that enjoy working out and there are people that are natural born athletically skilled individuals. Just as there are millions of people who absolutely hate working out, there are a similar number of those that are constantly moving, always in pursuit of the perfect body and always looking their best. While the ones that hate exercise may have a weight issue on their hands, there can also be an issue with the ones that seem to be doing the right thing by exercising an awful lot. Is it possible to exercise too much?
It is a nice thought to picture while you are running those last few steps on a treadmill that you are doing the right thing, getting in shape and keeping your body healthy by exercising. The problem lies within those that are doing too much of a good thing. Exercise without a doubt is a fantastic way to avoid illnesses and extend your lifespan dramatically. However, when you engage in too much of it there can be other consequences to doing so. Over exercising and over training the body generally occurs when you are training everyday or when you are training too much on the days that you are exercising. This could mean you only workout three days per week, but on those three days you are pushing your body to train for hours at a time it may simply be too much to handle.
If you have been running everyday for an hour in the morning for seven years, you most likely are not over training your body and your body not only becomes used to the activity, but it craves it when you take a day off from it. Those type of people are not over training their bodies. If you have begun working out with weights and doing cardio activities four or five days a week and each day it is hours long, or you feel you are pushing your body to finish the workouts then you are definitely over training your body. If your muscles feel stiff, sore or tender for days then you have over trained them. It is common to feel soreness when you begin a new routine or when you have not worked out in some time and then you begin to pick it back up as they will need time to get back into it. When you have been working out for weeks and they still feel sore then you need to cut back a little bit. Muscles need rest and many people that are trying to lose weight quickly or need to be involved in a particular athletic event soon tend to over do it to make their deadline. Always try to give yourself enough time prior to your deadline to get those resting times in between. Weight lifting should not be done everyday, it will not only cause your muscles to become sore, but they will stop gaining size so rapidly because they become immune to the workouts and they will be tired and need a day off. Take a day off in between weight training and eat a lot of protein and healthy carbohydrates to keep the body properly fueled to stay at your peak conditioning point.

Why Genital Herpes Infection Symptoms Are Sometimes Misdiagnosed

Knowledge of the genital herpes infection symptoms will help people to understand the disease and empower people regarding the precautions that can be adopted to prevent this. Consulting with a medical professional is critical in order to prevent the condition from spreading. A doctor can make an accurate diagnosis and give the appropriate treatment to cure this. Two to twenty days is how long it takes symptoms to manifest. This is after contact has been made with an infected person. Thereafter the signs could persist for up to fourteen days. Mild cases may not alert the person to the condition at all. Some people may experience this to a lesser degree, especially if they suffer from cold sores. This is a herpes virus strain. These people are in part immune to this.Sores may be visible while at the onset of the condition. These sores could last for up to fourteen days. The first outbreak of this is usually the most severe. This is because the body has no antibodies with which to fight the disease. Other symptoms could appear and be wrongly diagnosed as a different illness. The skin cells are attacked by the virus, it is here that it multiplies as it reproduces. Because of this, the skin becomes red and bumpy. The genital area can become infected with blisters and bumps. They may be painful and will eventually form a scab and a crust. Eventually, the sores will be healed and disappear. This is because the skin regenerates new skin tissue. This causes painful tingling itching and burning lesions around the genital area. Lymph glands may become swollen and the sufferer may experience fever, muscle ache and headache. There could also be a discharge through the vagina or the man's organ. Burning on urination may also occur.Sixty percent of people with genital HSV will experience viral shredding. They do not know they have the condition as no symptoms are experienced. This does not prevent the spreading of the condition. This can happen via sexual contact. Recurrence of the virus is possible, the symptoms will be shorter and less severe than the first time. Most often warning signs (prodromal) will come before the outbreak of sores happens. Neuralgia after the attack is often experienced. This means there is residual pain or discomfort in the region once the virus has gone.If a person experiences any of these genital herpes infection symptoms, a doctor should be consulted immediately. Treatment will commence after a conclusive diagnosis has been made. Anti-inflammatory medication, which is non-steroidal, is effective for pain relief and healing of the sores.

10 Ways to help your kids stay fit and healthy

Are we doing enough to help our children get an active, fun and healthy lifestyle? Is there something we can do to make sure they do?
Yes, is the answer. Here are 10 ways we can make sure our kids are fit and healthy.
1) Encourage them to play out at lunchtime - there was a time when this was all we'd do, but today's generation of youngsters are much more likely to favour the cosy environment of a computer room or dinner time class. You can't make them go outside, but a little encouragement doesn't hurt.
2) Walking to school - again, we all used to do it, but nowadays our little ones are driven there and dropped at the door. If you can, why not make the time to walk them in. Or, if they're too old to be walked with, why not arrange for a group of their friends to all walk together? They'll be safe and walking is a great way to exercise.
3) Limit their TV intake - adults love TV and so do children, but there should be limits as it may be stopping them doing other activities. Try not to watch too much as a parent, as your kids will undoubtedly follow suit. If they like watching sport with you on TV, then why not follow it up by taking them to the park and actually playing it?
4) How about a martial art? - Not every child likes football or tennis, so if they've yet to show too much interest in mainstream sports, why not ask them if they fancy a self-defence class like karate or judo. It can be great fun and it's an excellent form of exercise.
5) Family gyms - if it's raining or cold out, don't just plonk the kids in front of the goggle box. Instead, why not take them along to an indoor tennis centre, swimming pool or a family or kids gym?
6) Let them have the garden - even if you like to do a bit of gardening, during some key growing up years, there's nothing better than having a set of goal posts or cricket set to play with in the back garden. Yes, it'll ruin a patch of your grass and the plants are in for a tough time, but your kids will be active and, most importantly, safe.
7) Limit computer time - just as TV has taken over, so too has the world wide web. Again, limiting their time online will encourage them to find other fun things to do - like playing outside with friends or having fun in the garden.
8) Join in - it can be difficult to find time with our children at the best of times, but why not take the time you do spend with them outside or into a sporting environment? You'll be surprised by how much energy you'll start to have after just a few weeks of joining in and it'll break the bad habit of crashing after work in front of the television.
9) Healthy food = more energy - feed your kids unhealthy foods and they'll feel lazy and lethargic. More fruit and veg in their tuckbox might just give them the energy they need to run around, rather than sit by a screen.
10) Encourage, but don't pressure - if your child shows any interest in joining a sports team, then be supportive. Too many kids quit their team because of overly pushy parents, sometimes trying to live out their own dreams through their children. If they're allowed to just enjoy it, they probably will.
Maybe it's time to find out more about where to find a children's gym in your area.

Blatant Lies About Abdominal Abs

It is astounding how misunderstood the abdominal abs are. Whenever you look online for any decent abdominal workout, it's hard to miss the fact that every person is trying to tell you something different. These aren't minor differences either, at times two plans towards the same ends are polar opposites of one another. This seeming paradox is just for the workout section. When it comes to nutrition issues turn out to be even more hairy. If all of them were correct that would mean practically anything you did would lead to you getting in shape. As you may well have noticed, it does not work that way. Two thirds of all adults in the US have been measured to be overweight, half of that to be obese according to data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2001 to 2004. Since then I'm guessing all those statistics have changed for the worse, despite the wide variety of fat loss options offered. Be honest with yourself, how many times have you bought one of those gimmicks not because you thought they would work, but simply because you hoped they would? it's like playing russian roulette with your body and all but one chamber is loaded. most are designed to fail you and have you back on that couch, depressed, donut in hand in under a week.Do not fall for it. Do not give up though, not all products are like that. You can find some unbelievable programs and machines you can use. Even should you discover the perfect opportunity, it'll do you no good if you don't take action on it. In your quest to get a excellent abdominal abs program make certain that it includes both diet and training. Each are critical to see real, lasting change. It may be disheartening, you might hate hearing it, but it will save you time and money. No need to give up on your quest for firm abdominal abs though. You must first, however, clear your head of all the garbage information you've been spoonfed for years. Stay open minded when starting a program. If you deviate from the program and it does not work, it is your fault, not the program's. I know for a fact Truth About Abs works, so I think that'd be a fantastic place to start your journey. It has already helped thousands and will work for you too.Enjoy your new body.

Washboard Abdominals – Three Keys to Acquiring Sexy Washboard Abdominals

Every guy wants a set of washboard abs these days. In a survey carried out a while back, they were voted as the sexiest part on a guy by females. Extremely few folks possess this so-called "gift of genetics." It'd be convenient to blame it all on genetics, but that's not what it is. Sure, some individuals have excellent genetics and never had to work at them, but others have washboard abdominals despite nature being against them. Ditch the excuses, if you want something, go after it.I'm not just here to ridicule your lack of effort though, I'm going to try and help you get a body you can be confident about showing off. If you're a guy and you succeed in your transformation, don't feel the need to go around showing off everywhere. It's fun, but it makes those who don't have a six pack feel bad.The 3 keys to acquiring washboard abdominals are, and always have been, diet, workout, and consistent focus. It is going to be hard to start, but each action you take towards your objective helps you develop momentum. Eventually you won't feel right eating those foods you used to gorge yourself on. It'll be like sabotaging your body. So that you can go the places and do the things you desire in your life, you must keep your body in shape.Amidst the three your diet will make the most difference. You will never have the body you want if you aren't eating properly. Hours and hours of exercise aren't enough to make a difference if your diet is bad. The quality of the fuel you put into your body also defines the quality of your energy. You might experience sugar cravings or crashing energy levels with a bad diet, both leading to a worse body and a worse diet. This is why it is so essential to plan out what you'll be consuming and when you will be eating it. This includes making sure you have sufficient vitamins, minerals, and the right macronutrient ratios. How you exercise will make or break your results. It is the second component of how you create the calorie deficit necessary to lose body fat, thereby making your abs a lot more visible and defined. If you aren't exercising correctly for your desired goal, you're basically wasting your time. In the quest for washboard abdominals, your aim should be only the most calorically demanding exercises. These consist of cardio and High Intensity Interval Training(HIIT).You know how the cycle of failed fat loss goes. You get motivated to change because you can't stand how you appear any more. You put in superb effort for a short period of time, and then it fizzles out after a short time when you haven't seen the results you would like or expect. In no time you're back to your old habits and routines. You'll need a stronger dedication to the result to get washboard abdominals. Anyone can put in the necessary work on a good day, it's when you have every excuse not to and do it anyway that makes the biggest difference in your body and your life.

Activities to Inspire Your Children to Stay Active

No mater what time of year it is, it never seems to fail that you may have find your children in between activities and in need of something to keep them active. They have a habit of falling into a trance after school or over the weekends in front of the television or computer for hours. Certainly the season will depend on what activities they can participate outdoors, but do not limit their fun to only being outside as there are many things they can engage in while stuck inside with colder temperatures.
The main reasons you want to keep your children involved in some type of activity are because of the mental clarity they can gain from it and to also keep their growing bodies fit and strong. Children need to be occupied to learn and excel physically. By engaging in the smallest of activities they can learn another appreciation for other sports they may be inclined to join later down the road. As far as the mental clarity that is beneficial, every child whether they are six or sixteen experiences stress during their day. Yes, children too have stress as far as staying on top of their academics and also all the social aspects that attending school and having friends can bring.
Some activities to consider for your children to dive into are playing outside whenever possible, engaging in any video games that encourage physical play such as the very popular Nintendo Wii programs and taking part in any exercise videos that are available for children. Do not forget all the household chores that your children can help around the house with that also encourage movement such as cutting grass, shoveling snow, carrying laundry filled baskets, vacuuming, raking leaves, taking out the trash, helping store items in an attic or basement and cleaning out the shed or garage. Children are not helpless creatures, and they only way they learn how to be productive adults is by what you instill in them as an early age. Having weekly chore responsibilities is good for them to stay active as well as teaching them how to take care of themselves. Some other activities would be any board games that are ones that force you to get up and move around to win such as the game Twister. Hopscotch can be played in any garage, basement or hallway with some tape to outline the squares and a treasure hunt throughout the house is the perfect way to spend a rainy day and encourage them to use their minds. Make it a routine that one or two weeknights you have family game night or at a specific time after school they go play out or indoors. When it becomes a habit it is something will continue to do the rest of their lives and when you join in on the fun! This not only gives you time to be active as well, but time to enjoy the wonderful family you have created also.

Tips to Prevent Common Sports Injuries

Whether you are a seasoned athlete or just someone that enjoys an occasional run around the block, you can always become injured even from the smallest activities. To learn how to prevent injuries is equally as important as which types of activities you choose to do in your free time. If you have a preexisting condition you may need to consult with your doctor prior to taking part in any sport activities. Next you will want to consider the conditions outdoors if you will be heading outside to exercise. Running for example in the winter requires enough clothing to stay warm while summer outdoor running requires less clothing but enough to keep you protected as well. Running can involve many injuries unfortunately, it can ruin your knees if you constantly run outdoors on uneven pavement and many people have fallen or slipped and suffered a nasty break. On the other hand, it is a great workout and can raise your heart rate and keep you fit and trim for years so do consider running indoors or on a treadmill instead.
To continue on the outdoor scheme of injuries, skiing and snowboarding have both been rather well known for sustaining injuries. They, much like running are both very effective forms of exercise and great methods to become more coordinated and healthy, however it can be dangerous if you are a beginner. Train and get enough lessons before you head out on the slopes on your own. Wear all the protective equipment and clothing that is recommended and always keep warm and cover your eyes with goggles from the cold wind. Cycling is one of the most popular family pastimes there are, but it too has created thousands of injuries. Wear helmets always and never allow your children to go bike riding without theirs on. Flipping bikes over and falling off of them onto curbs can be big issues for adults and little ones alike. Knee pads and elbow pads should be worn for beginner bike riders and anytime you may be riding on rough terrain.
The last portion of staying clear of any sports related injuries is to always stay hydrated. Any people commonly mistake being dehydrated during any form of exercise as part of being in a warm environment or only when they are sweating quite a bit. These are not the only times when your body needs to be hydrated though, even when exercising in very frigid temperatures you must drink water and any other sports drinks that may help keep you hydrated. Always try to eat something healthy before and especially after you exercise and stretching prior and just after exercise is vital. Stretching before and after will not only prevent injuries, but it will make you more flexible and help build stronger muscle tissue as well. Be smart when exercising, do not go our running in the snow if you do not have on proper footwear, things to that nature. If you do feel you have experienced an injury of any form, seek the help of your physician immediate to ensure you have not developed something serious.

The Heart Beat of Anxiety Relaxation

Anxiety relaxation sounds like it is impossible to do, at first reading, doesn't it?But the search term anxiety relaxation probably refers to how to relax from anxiety, and I can offer some experience there, having dealt with (and I am still dealing with) a heightened startle response and hypervigilence since I was six years old.In fact, my children, once they learned that Daddy was really funny looking when surprised by a loud noise behind him have taken great delight in inducing a startle response by sneaking up behind me and yelling and then running away.My first antidote for my ever present over vigilence was ethyl alcohol which works fast and works every time used. However that medication comes with some serious side effects, and I do not recommend it for your anxiety relaxation. What I can recommend after years of trying out various tools, like Transcendental Meditation, Chi Gong, EEG Biofeedback, heart rate variability biofeedback, bio-dots, handwarming biofeedback, progressive muscle relaxation, Open Focus, physical exercise, sweat lodges, binaural beat tapes, neurolinguistic programming, (after all, I am a counselor) is the heart rate variability biofeedback tool which includes Open Focus and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy components. The one thing that makes this tool so superior in my mind is that it is learned. I can cue the physiology on any given heart beat and feel it happen. While the other tools I mentioned are powerful, they require time and often I do not have that time available. In other words, a learned behavior can be practiced on any given heart beat without equipment like computers, sensors, head phones, ect. The training is portable. So heart rate variability biofeedback can be used as a lifestyle tool and not just as an antidote to anxiety.I can practice heart rate variability biofeedback every five minutes for two heart beats to keep my heart beat coherent which means that every cell in my body will beat on that frequency too, and when my heart moves into that coherence I feel really good even though I have not gotten richer or grown more hair.In other words, anxiety relaxation is an inside job. Anxiety Relaxation and Your Brain Fitness?I first came across heart rate variability biofeedback in the late 1990's and began using it personally and professionally in 2000, so I had some years of experience teaching it to my clients in domestic violence and anger management groups when I first came across a reference to the brain fitness revolution that is going on now.And heart rate variability biofeedback has been recommended as part of the tool set one needs to use to encourage neurogenesis or the growth of new neurons daily (that is right, replacement parts) and neuroplasticity, which is the term used to describe what neurons do, sometimes within minutes, when they learn something new.If you have a 62 year old brain like mine which occasionally forgets where its glasses are, then you are probably interested in neurogenesis, which was only discovered a few short years ago.OK, so maybe this brain fitness stuff is very confusing for you.For a very clear and mostly jargon free overview, I suggest you read Brainfit for Life written by Simon Evans,Ph.D. and Paul Burghardt,Ph.D. who are neuroscientists at the University of Michigan. They write about the pillars of brain fitness and how attending to those pillars prepares the brain for neurogenesis and neuroplasticity. Those pillars are physical exercise, the most important, nutrition including antioxidants and omega 3 fatty acid, sleep, stress management, since excess adrenalin and cortisol kill those new neurons, and novel learning experiences, which usually consists of the kind of learning involved in learning a new instrument or a new language.Imagine my surprise when I saw a recommendation for heart rate variability biofeedback from one of the leading lights in the brain fitness field, Alvaro Fernandez. For once I was actually ahead of the curve. So it turns out that living a brain fit lifestyle also impacts your anxiety relaxation, much to the delight of your brain. There are also some computerized brain fitness tools available for you to try out in your quest for neurogenesis. The research is beginning to demonstate that there is great viability in them. Hope you enjoy.

Fitting Exercise Into Any Busy Schedule

People are divided into two categories in the health and fitness world, those that are active and enjoy exercising and those that do not engage in it at all. For the ones that do not get involved in some form of activity, they run the risk of obtaining several awful health ailments and they generally have endless excuses as to why they cannot find the time or money to get started.
Exercise should never be considered an activity that is optional. It is vital for a healthy and long life and most importantly, it keeps your immunity strong so you have less chances of becoming sick. The funny part is, you do not need to invest a small fortune in a gym membership or even leave your house if you do not have the ability to do so. You can perform endless activities right from your living room to get in shape and keep your heart healthy. For example, there are thousands of exercise and fitness videos at your disposal a that you can purchase on the internet or in any local department store. They are cheap and effective, and they can be done in the privacy of your own home. Choose ones you will enjoy doing and that you will commit to for a few weeks without getting bored of the routine. There are ones for boxing, yoga, aerobics and many dancing ones for your review.
You can also perform simple exercises in your home with no videos or equipment needed. You can do squats, sit ups, push ups, lunges, jumping jacks and run in place all in your house. You should always start out with a few sets of each until you build up stamina and strength and gradually increase them as you become more comfortable. Another very fun method of getting in shape is by playing with your children. This not only whips you into shape, but it also gives you additional quality time with your little ones. Play outside as you would if you were a child, play football, basketball, tennis, kickball, soccer and get on those swings at the playground. Get your body in motion and you will discover your inner child while entertaining your children at the same time. Run around your neighborhood with your children (if they are old enough) and as you become a better athlete you can all track your progress together as far as how quick your time becomes with each day. You can purchase a jump rope for around two dollars at a local store and by suing that just eight to ten minutes per day you can burn almost three hundred calories. You must find a routine that you can work around the rest of the demands of your life and that you find exciting and not boring. Try to include making better choices for your meals and snacks as well to boost your weight loss plan along with your exercise regimen, it will only take you one week of being active to notice your body changing for the better.

Why Every Woman Should Include Weights in Their Fitness Routine

There is a popular misconception that when women begin to lift weights they lose their femininity and look too bulky, which could not be farther from reality. The vast majority of women all over the world are always seeking the fastest and most convenient new methods to lose weight. After spending a small fortune on shakes, exercise equipment and dangerous diet pills they come to the harsh realization that they must workout and eat properly to achieve success shedding pounds.
Perhaps you have strolled into your local health club and decided to get your exercise in by doing cardio such as running on the treadmill a few days per week. After the third week you become discouraged because all the miles you have ran are now starting to plateau and you are not losing the weight as quickly. This is exactly why every woman should include weights in their fitness routine. Cardio activities such as running, walking, step aerobics an spinning are all fantastic for getting your heart rate up and shedding pounds. However, just as your brain becomes bored with the ever-exciting steps on a treadmill after the first two miles, your muscles do as well.
To just lose inches and have your body shrink in size but maintain the same shape, the cardio workouts will be suffice. For example, if your body is in the shape of a pear and you perform the same activity repeatedly it will become nothing but a smaller pear shape. If you are seeking to become more toned and lose fat versus pounds, then you must mix it up a bit and utilizing weights is the best thing you can do. Women do not become bodybuilders overnight, the ones that are ripped and have bulky figures work at weight lifting as if it was their full time career. A female that uses weights twice a week will never look similar to those bulkier ladies.
When you incorporate weight training into your routine, you are building muscle which dissolves fat. Building muscle should be a female's best friend when aiming to lose fat. Losing fat and losing weight are actually two different practices. Losing weight is just making your body smaller and can come in the form of losing water weight. Losing fat is when your body sheds that fatty tissue that is so hard to get rid of and causes cellulite on your frame as well. By weight lifting small amounts of weight for high repetitions you will become a more toned individual, and by lifting heavier amounts of weight for smaller reps you are burning fat quicker and changing the shape of your body over time. Weights are very inexpensive to purchase at any local sporting goods shop or you can begin a program at your gym. Be sure to train with weights at least twice per week and never two days in a row to allow your muscles to rest. Your body will begin to even burn more calories while you are sleeping after lifting weights and you will notice the results much faster and by taking part in a healthy form of weight loss.

How To Buy Cheap Treadmills

Using a treadmill is one the most perfect, fast and rewarding ways to increase your fitness and stamina as well as boosting your muscle strength. Generally speaking though, the actual treadmill equipment can be quite expensive so here we look at some of the best places to get good cheap treadmills so you can get into shape in the luxury of your own home at the times you want without the need of having to travel and pay for the gym.
Click here for the cheapest treadmills on the Internet...
These reasons are mainly why the treadmill has become so popular at home and why people turn to it for a main part of their exercise routine. Here are some good places to look for cheap treadmills:
Classified ad sites - Place like Craigslist are ideal for a number of reasons. Firstly they include sellers local to you and also prices can be very cheap when compared to fitness equipment retailers.
eBay - The online action house can be a great source for all exercise equipment including treadmills. Just make sure the shipping costs are reasonable (or free!) and that the seller has a good amount of positive feedback. Also if you pay by Paypal, you will be insured should anything go wrong.
Local papers - Classified publications and 'for sale' sections in local papers can be ideal as again they prices will be very low. The goods may be used but if you are happy with a used treadmill then this could be ideal and the seller will be local too.
If all of the above fails, then try other fitness retailers or websites online but you should be able to find a bargain treadmill among one of the above. It is always good to shop around for the best prices when looking for cheap treadmills as the costs vary greatly.

Fitness Training - 2 Effective Upper Body Exercises To Boost Your Strength

Most people think you need to have fancy equipment to be able to keep fit. Exercise equipment is important and they can help you however, they are not compulsory. You can say the same thing about health clubs and gyms. Their monthly fees can be very expensive however, many people do not go to their gym on a regular basis and that can be a waste of money. If you are on a budget and you do not have much money to spare there is a solution. In reality you do not need all this fancy equipment anyway. All you need is some spare time, your own body weight and gravity. The 2 strength training exercises I am about to cover in this article can be completed in relatively short time. You can do them in the comfort of your own home or if you prefer the outdoors you can do them in your local park. The first upper body exercise I am going to talk about is the chair dip.To do this exercise you will need an ordinary chair or you can use a bench. Make sure the chair or bench is sturdy enough to take your weight. Begin by sitting on the edge of the chair. Take both your left and right hand and grip the edge of the chair tightly. Make sure your fingers are pointing in a forward direction. Your arms need to be shoulder width apart. Your legs need to be stretched out straight and locked together. The heels of the feet should be touching the surface and your toes pointing upwards. Slowly move your bottom off the edge of the chair and begin to lower yourself downwards by bending your elbows. Lower yourself down until your elbows are bent at a 90 degree right angle. At this point raise yourself upwards and repeat the exercise. Try ten chair dips to start with and then gradually build up the number of reps as you build your strength. The next fitness training exercise is a simple variation on the chair dip. The only difference is that your knees are bent. This variation is easier than the normal chair dip and it is advisable to start with this first if you find the other difficult.Use the same position as the traditional chair dip but bend your legs. The more you bend your legs the easier the exercise becomes. To increase the difficultly of the exercise gradually straighten out both your legs.If you have a health condition consult with your doctor before doing a new exercise routine.

Cardiovascular Workouts

It is important to supplement regular workouts with some form of cardiovascular workout. Not only will this improve your overall level of fitness, it will aid in overall fat loss, make you feel better than you ever have done before and bring you closer to achieving your personal goals. A word to the wise though, the Fitness Guru operates a no gain without (some) pain policy, so be prepared to be put through your paces.RunningThe cheapest, easiest form of cardio exercise. It is recommended that to dramatically improve fitness levels, a combination of medium duration (e.g. 5km run) and HIIT (high intensity interval training) is performed. Here is a workout designed to use both techniques to their full and build fitness levels.Duration Run: You can either chose to run distances or against the clock. Set yourself a goal such as to run 5km, or to run for 40 minutes straight. Build up so you can achieve this goal consistently 3 times, then increase the distance or time in small increments. If you set out to run 5km and can do that easily, try to run 5.5 or 6km.HIIT: Better known as 'Fartlek' training, this involves maximal effort for a short period of time followed by periods of rest. A training regime to follow could be something like 5x100m sprints, resting for 1 minute after every one. When 5x100 becomes too easy, do 7x100m or 3x200m with 120s rest.SkippingTried and tested by many boxers, the greatest being Ali. He could skip easily for 10 minutes non stop. Skipping is an intense form of exercise if done properly that really builds up fitness quickly. HIIT should be performed to maximise fitness development. Think of HIIT skipping like being in a boxing match with each time duration being 1 round. Here is a generic workout to follow:30 second skip, 30 second rest45 second skip, 30 second rest1 minute skip, 45 second rest1.5 minutes skip, 1 minute rest2 minutes skip, 1 minute rest2.5 minutes skip, 1.5 minutes rest2.5 minutes skip, 1.5 minutes rest1.5 minutes skip, 1 minute rest1 minute skip, 45 second rest45 second skip, 30 second restWhen this becomes easy, change the times so you are skipping for longer. The Fitness Guru can skip for 8 minute straight, can you come close to that?SwimmingProbably the most effective form of cardio exercise there is. Swimming makes use of a huge number of muscles, and if maximal effort is exerted, has the ability to build muscle and improve fitness extremely quickly. As with running, Duration and HIIT swimming can be performed to help improve fitness levels and maximise overall fat loss.Duration Swim: You can either chose to swim distances or against the clock. Set yourself a goal such as to swim 2000m, or to swim for 60 minutes straight. Build up so you can achieve this goal consistently 3 times, then increase the distance or time in small increments. If you set out to swim 2000m and can do that easily, try to run 2500 or 3000m.HIIT: Better known as 'Fartlek' training, this involves maximal effort for a short period of time followed by periods of rest. A training regime to follow could be something like 7x50m sprints, resting for 1 minute after every one. When 7x50 becomes too easy, do 5x100m or 3x200m with 2 minutes rest.Rowing MachineA machine that enables a total body workout and improves fitness levels relatively quickly. As with running, duration and HIIT should be performed. Chose a setting that is challenging for yourself, but one with which you can still last for a while (it is impossible to say which setting as everyone is different). Make the setting harder for yourself when performing HIIT training.Exercise BikeThe exercise bike is a good fitness builder and fat loser (how many chunky riders do you see in the Tour de France?). As mentioned previously, duration and HIIT can be performed. As with the rowing machine, chose a setting that is challenging for yourself, but one with which you can still last for a while. Make the setting harder for yourself when performing HIIT training.Other machinesUse the same principles listed here for other forms of cardio training, if applicable.Scary stuff? You bet. But if you are serious about fulfilling your personal goals and are willing to experience some paid for those precious gains, it is well worth it. Putting in maximum effort will have you feeling fitter, looking better and being able to run rings around your peers...literally.
